Why mindfulness in Yoga?

In our daily life our attention is dispersed into many different directions. Fragmentation of body and mind is a direct result of our fast paced modern lifestyle. It can leave us feeling disconnected, off balance, ungrounded and at a loss. Physically we are in one place, ignoring our breath, and our mind is wandering off somewhere completely different.

The good news is that body and mind respond positively and swiftly when being attended to in a mindful, genuine and caring way.

We are more than just muscles and bones, we are more than thoughts and emotions, therefore our practice needs to address all systems as an integration of a whole self. The moment we are paying attention to our breath, we are connecting body, mind and are able to be fully present in the 'here and now'.

My classes are designed to address your whole unified self. I incorporate mindfully guided breathing and movement exercises which are geared to increase your bodies functionality in daily life. A Yoga practice with a practical, intelligent mind- body approach to support your healthy lifestyle needs of today!
